Situational and Thematic Psalms and Proverbs
A unique feature of ScriptureStoryline is that the Psalms and Proverbs are not studied individually, but, as much as possible, in accord with the situation which prompted their composition. Thus, Psalm 51 (David’s confession after adultery) is studied with 2 Samuel 11—the actual account of David and Bathsheba. Likewise, the Proverbs are studied be primarily with First Kings and Second Chronicles—since these books relate the life of Solomon and his descendents. Where we are unsure as to the original situation of a Psalm/chapter of Proverbs, it is placed thematically in the study plan.
